Robert J. Hartigan
Robert Hartigan is a committed and tenacious attorney, deeply dedicated to advocating for his clients and ensuring they receive the justice they deserve. He is particularly passionate about representing injury victims, understanding firsthand the profound impact that serious injuries can have on individuals and their families. Robert’s dedication to his work is personal—his mother suffered a traumatic brain injury due to a drunk driver, an experience that shaped his understanding of how life-altering such injuries can be.
Robert earned his law degree from Suffolk University Law School in Boston, where he focused on civil litigation. During and after his time in law school, he gained significant experience working at a personal injury litigation firm just outside of Boston. He started as a clerk and, after five years, became a litigation attorney, handling a wide array of personal injury cases, including motor vehicle crashes, premises liability incidents, traumatic brain injuries, PIP benefits, and claims against insurance companies for violations of Massachusetts’ consumer protection laws.
Since 2019, Robert has been actively involved with the Massachusetts Bar Association, serving on the Young Lawyers Division’s Board of Directors and the Judicial Administration Council. That same year, he was recognized by the National Trial Lawyers as a Top 40 Under 40 Attorney in Massachusetts, an exclusive honor awarded to attorneys with exceptional skills and qualifications in civil plaintiff or criminal defense law. This recognition is by invitation only and is limited to the top 40 attorneys in each state or region.
Robert is also dedicated to giving back to the legal community through various associations. He serves on Suffolk University Law School’s Law Alumni Board of Directors and the executive board of the Essex County Bar Association, where he was elected as treasurer in 2024.
In 2022, Robert was honored with the Excellence in the Law Up and Coming Award by Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly, recognizing his significant contributions to the Massachusetts legal community in just under 10 years of practice.
Before founding Lionhart Injury Law, Robert was a partner at a small personal injury firm on the North Shore of Massachusetts.
Originally from the North Shore of Massachusetts, Robert completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Massachusetts, Lowell, with a focus on philosophy and communications. Before embarking on his legal career, he played guitar in local bands and completed a music business internship in Nashville, TN.
In 2024, Robert established Lionhart Injury Law with a mission to advocate for injury victims with courage, compassion, and commitment to justice. With family ties in both Boston and Atlanta, Robert is proud to represent injury victims in both cities.
Over the past eight years, Robert has recovered nearly $10 million for injury victims.
